Solar Inspections, Testing, and Safety checks

SolarWise Wagga has a team of qualified in house technicians available to carry out inspections and reporting on your Solar power system.

Whether your system needs a system performance test, or full system safety check, we have the knowledge and experience to help you.

Here are some things that can go wrong with solar systems:

  • Unsafe wiring - either resulting from a poor installation or something that has occurred since
  • Damaged Panels
  • Solar inverter fault - not functioning or displaying warning indicators
  • Lightning strike damage
  • General poor performance

Performance Testing

The value and return on investment of a solar PV system is linked to its performance.
Many people aren't aware of how much energy their system should produce, or if it's production has decreased due to a fault that has developed in a PV module or string since installation.

A regular system performance test can identify any hidden problems, and leave you reassured that your system is in good working order.

Shade Impact Assessment

A shade impact assessment is carried out using a special instrument called the Solar Pathfinder. By combining the site-specific shading data from the Solar Pathfinder with the published global weather data, an accurate solar site analysis can be obtained.

This assessment is usually carried out prior to site selection and installation, however it can also be beneficial to assess an existing solar PV system that may now by affected by shading that wasn't present at the time of installation.
Some examples of this are trees that have grown taller, antenna's or satellite dishes recently installed, or new power lines or poles erected nearby.

Even a small shading source moving across a PV array through the day can have a large impact on the overall performance of a system. A shade impact assessment can identify any problems that may need to be rectified such as tree lopping.
Alternatively, it may indicate that the addition of Optimizer technology to the system would greatly increase output performance.

Full System Check

A full safety and performance check of your solar system on a regular basis will give you peace of mind knowing that your solar system and its components are safe and functioning correctly.
Our qualified inspection team will complete a series of tests and checks to ensure your system is electrically safe and performing to it's maximum potential output.
